Mine snapped in 2000 on the way to the Memphis motorcycle show. I was lucky, it was in first when it popped in two. The fix is fairly simple. Get a Toyota battery hold down bolt, screw it into the standard thread heim joint (tranny end), cut to length, and braze or weld the other end into the other heim joint. 3000 miles on the repair with no further problems.
